FREE ABDOMINAL TRAINING SEMINAR

The Base Yoga is hosting Michelle, owner of Be Your Best Physiotherapy, who is offering a free training session for local health and fitness professionals.
The seminar will include theory and practical demonstrations of how to assess and progress abdominal exercises - including general population but also in pregnancy & post-natal period (including the assessment & management of DRAM).
Did you know:
• The consequences of poor abdominal exercise technique, include increasing risk of hernia, back pain, incontinence & pelvic organ prolapse.
• Some rectus abdominis separation in pregnancy is normal – excessive separation is not!
• Research demonstrates most of DRAM healing happens in the first 12 weeks post-baby, with minimal improvement seen after this.
The Physiotherapists at Be Your Best Physiotherapy are experienced in the assessment and management of pregnant and post-natal clients, plus prescribing & progressing abdominal exercises – for the general population & sports people.
The Base Yoga also specialise in Pre & Post-Natal yoga, however we also know that birthing mummas find support from many different areas of the health & fitness world in our area. Together, we can all learn to support these women pre & post-natally with our knowledge & assistance.
