The Base Yoga prenatal classes are Melbourne's most popular prenatal yoga classes for a reason.
Our yoga teaching team has one goal in mind, and that is to make YOU feel good. We love what we do and our passion for yoga, pregnancy, birth and motherhood has driven us to build the pregnancy yoga classes to what they are today. The teaching team has been carefully selected to ensure each woman that enters our fully equipped studio feels well looked after, empowered and inspired. The Base Yoga prenatal classes are facilitated with the comfort of mum and bub in mind. We cover topics from yogic breath & relaxation, to body strengthening - preparing your mind and body for positively birthing your baby. |
WHY PRENATAL YOGA?
|
PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES
Restorative Yoga Classes are also suitable for prenatal mummas wanting some blissful relaxation time for mind & body.
New Student Introductory Pass - only $49 for your first 21 days - |
WHEN CAN I START?
If you are new to yoga we recommend waiting until your 13th week before commencing. If you already have a consistent yoga practice, you are welcome to start the prenatal yoga classes at any time. Best to start as early in your second trimester as you can. If you are more than 30 weeks pregnant please call us before starting as we will need to asses your suitability. |
DO I NEED PREVIOUS YOGA EXPERIENCE?
You do not need to know anything about yoga or have a certain level of fitness to begin. All you need is a commitment to attend at least one class a week to reap the benefits |
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Just yourself and a water bottle. Mats and props are supplied, although we do recommend purchasing your own quality mat, available at the studio. |
WHEN DO I FINISH?
When you give birth! The yoga classes are tailored to be safe for you until you give birth. We have many mums to be still going strong at 42 weeks. |
BOOK YOUR PRENATAL YOGA CLASSES
Online registration is a must.
Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early for registration.
Note: you do NOT need to commit to the same class each week, but we recommend that you attend at least 1-2 classes a week for continuity of practice and overall health during your pregnancy.

ARE THERE OTHER SUITABLE CLASSES?
Slow Flow and Restorative Yoga are also suitable during pregnancy, Modifications can be given during classes. Your pass can be used towards these classes too. We strongly recommend attending a Prenatal Yoga class first, especially if you are new to yoga as modifications in regular classes can be overwhelming if you are just starting. We will empower you during prenatal classes and help you understand safe modifications. It won't take long to know how your body feels on your mat and its needs for regular classes (if you choose to attend a range of classes.) *Slow Flow should be avoided if you are already feeling challenged in your Prenatal class though. |
WHAT IF MY BABY ARRIVES EARLY?
Your classes will remain on your account for up to 3 months after your baby’s birth to help you return in a safe amount of time to your practise, especially Mums & Bubs classes. If you need longer, please let us know. Click HERE to read more about Mums & Bubs Yoga ~ a safe return to your practise. |
