Julie is the Owner & Director of The Base Yoga. She found yoga when attending a gym yoga class to simply 'give it a go.' It was then she realised something had shifted within that made her acknowledge the importance of dedicating mindful time to yourself.......yoga offered exactly that. For over a decade Julie has been practising yoga. Having worked and travelled for over 10 years in the corporate world, and having two children during this time, she also understands how sacred it is to nurture the mind and body in different stages of your life. Julie completed her Yoga Teacher Training with the Byron Yoga Centre and has since been accredited with her Restorative & Prenatal qualifications with Bliss Baby Yoga, as well as completing her Meditation Teacher Training with the Melbourne Meditation Centre. Julie enjoys teaching a range of yoga styles including Power & Slow Flow, Restorative & Prenatal, including Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Meditation. Irrelevant of the class style, Julie guides her students towards healthy thinking, creating positive habits for her students' personal wellness. She also encourages her students to listen to their body every time they step onto their mat, supporting them to explore practical alignment relevant to their own body requirements - relevant and mindful movement of the body. Whilst Julie cherishes and honours the practise of yoga, her classes are designed to be uplifting, enjoyable and fun.
